I have recently joined icheckmovies, which is a neat little website that keeps a record of what movies and the number of movies one has seen. It also has a like/dislike feature, along with a watchlist.

Now, I will mostly be using it to keep count of what I have seen and nothing more.

I have spent the last few weeks attempting to fill it up with as much movies as I can remember to form a near-complete list. It is far from complete for I have definitely seen over a 1000 movies. Yeah, I have wasted hours of my life. Unfortunately...

1. I have forgotten most of what I have watched in the past.
2. Some movies are either not listed or incorrectly labelled.
3. This refers to both of the above: A lot of Hong Kong movies have yet to be added.

The good news is, as long as I can find the imdb page of any film, I can have it added to the list. It's just a matter of figuring out what those damn movies are called, especially the HK ones which have unusual translations that often have nothing to do with the original titles and/or plot, themes, etc.

Oh, what's that? You want the link to my profile? Here you go: http://www.icheckmovies.com/profiles/mcarkz

{ a list of my most main ships and their star rating. It goes without saying, any pairing listed as OTP has a definite five star rate. Should be obvious from that, five is the maximum number of stars given to any one pairing. Note: I won't be including any movie, crossover or real life pairings (there is either too much or too little to care about). Now there's bound to be some I've missed, so don't take this as a complete list. It's just a general overview. Anyway, let's commence the list...

Yesterday was an awesome day.

A lot of really good songs came on the radio. Two of which were Lady Antebellem songs and, now that I've mentioned it, I have decided that I must own the We Owned The Night album. It is a top priority for sure. Damn, I'm disappointed that I missed my chance to attend their London gig last month. Oh well, hopefully next time.

Geez, where did all these Mario merch come out from? I saw a LOT of Mario stuff at GAME and hmv. I was really tempted to rack 'em, but I would rather wait until new Pokemon stuff come out. Speaking of which, I stalked Serebii (the site, not Joe) and discovered a Keldeo event will be hosted by GAME stores. Looks like I'll be back at there again in September for Keldeo and then again in October for the release of BW2 :D

I am now officially convinced that Apple Stores are just plain weird. Apparently buying iPad cases can be a nuisance. Seriously, if there isn't a counter to pay for items then, at least, make yourselves clear. Who knew all those blue-clothed sales staff were also walking cashiers? Not me.

Oh crap, we didn't get a chance to go to Dress Circle. That's too bad. Next week is when the (physical) store shuts down for good and it would be good to check it while we still can, in case there are any really good bargains left. To be honest, I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did.

Last time, I was impressed by Forbidden Planet for including Pokemon capsules. This time, TokyoToys wowed me for stocking some nice OHSHC swag, so naturally I just had to buy something. Any merchanise featuring Tamaki Suoh or Cilan from Pokemon is an instant must-have. Oh, I'm such a fangirl. Now, if only there were Ace Attorney merch avavilable.

Finally, T.K. Maxx had the deodorant for Sex and the City: Sunrise available. Unbelievable. No Wonderstruck in Debenhams, but this is popping up elsewhere. What the fudge? Why? WHY? Why do they have to do this? WHY GODDAMMIT? WHY?

23rd June 2012 will forever be known as one of the most eventful days ever. A lot of people may know it as the day of the Japanese release of Pokemon Black 2 and White 2, but suprisingly the spotlight was not on BW2 this time.

Long story...Collapse )

BTW I JUST FOUND OUT A FEW HOURS AGO THAT THE POKEMON BLACK 2 AND WHITE 2 ENGLISH RELEASE DATES HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED!!!
~ 7th October (US) & 12th October (Europe). I can't fricking wait.

OH MAH GOD!! IT'S A SHINY!!!
shiny goodnessCollapse )

The coherent version: So, I was just going about my normal routine of playing Pokemon Diamond - daily battles at the Valor Lakefront, some Underground exploration and berry growing. For some reason, I decided to go off to Fuego Ironworks to catch some Pokemon when all of a sudden I had a random encounter with a SHINY SHELLOS!! :D

I didn't even realise it was a shiny until I saw those blue stars pop up. My face ---> O.O

My initial reaction was "Wait, was that really a shiny? It doesn't look that different to the normal Shellos. I'll catch it anyway"

Then I sent out my Staravia to weaken it, but I failed to land a single attack on it. As a result, my poor bird fainted and I knew if I attacked using any other Pokemon on my team, I would surely knock it out. Luckily, I have a large arsenal of Pokeballs in many shapes and forms at my disposal, so I figured I should just start chucking them at it. First Pokeball missed, but the second caught it. And so, I am now the proud owner of my FIRST EVER RANDOM ENCOUNTER SHINY! Technically, my first ever shiny of all since the Red Gyarados, events and trades don't really count.

Last words: I definitely was not expecting this, but I couldn't be more pleased with my sparkly new Pokemon. I'm not sure what am going to do with this thing, but who cares, it's a shiny.

It was my birthday two day ago, but that's not what this entry is about. I have had 23 birthdays now and only about half are actually interesting, so why bore you with the generic "how I spent my birthday" crap... No, instead, I have decided to give you something else entirely:

WIMBLEDON or as I call it, Wims.

But why am I refering to some seemingly random place? No, it's not for the tennis despite my love of the sport. It's not the place that holds the most importance, but rather what it represents. Well, for a start, I spent this year's birthday there for Starlight Express at the New Wimbledon Theatre. Alright, let's back up a bit... to 2007. That year is also known as the Wims year, despite the fact that Wimbledon didn't even come into the picture until the late Summer to Autumn period. Now, here's a few highlights of that year:
  • Still one of the most hilarious and flooring years to date.
  • I watched the most television shows of any year (40 shows)
  • My sister and I outdid ourselves with the most amount of the movies seen at the cinema (147 films, give or take)
  • First time we went to The Vitality Show, where we were showered with lots of freebies. It's lame now.
  • I received a pink Nintendo DS Lite and Pokemon Diamond for my 18th birthday.
  • The year I finished college and started university.
Now, let's get back on track (and I don't mean literally). How did we get lured to Wimbledon? Well, simples. Let's just say someone got a job position at a local eductational establishment. Either way, it was in close promixity to Odeon Wimbledon and only a hop on the tube away from Central London. During the 'Days' in 2006, my sister and I spent a lot of time around the many cinemas in London, so it was only natural that we would continue to do so for the following year. Although that position didn't last too long, it was a blast while it lasted. But, it wouldn't be until 2009 that we would finally return to Wims yet again. This time, movies were out and theatre was in.

OH AND ANOTHER THING:
I just want to say to the New Wimbledon Theatre in the most calm way possible - STOP SENDING ME MAIL, DAMMIT!

It has been a long road, but it's not over yet.
Not counting plays, I have finally seen 50 musical productions and that won't be the last of it - not by a long shot.
The first was The Phantom of the Opera, which was back in March 2006. The 4th to be exact.

Here are the shows I have seen (in order) - some good, some bad:
The Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King (x2), Wicked (x2), Cabaret, Dirty Dancing, Hairspray, Sunset Boulevard, Singin' in the Rain, Grease, Rent, Chicago, Jersey Boys, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, Thriller Live, We Will Rock You, Shout, A Little Night Music, Spring Awakening, Mamma Mia, Sister Act, Marilyn, Too Close to the Sun, Dreamboats & Petticoats, Forbidden Broadway, La Cage Aux Folles, The Rat Pack - Live from Las Vegas, Never Forget, Beauty & the Beast, Dancing in the Streets, Avenue Q, Sweet Charity, Flashdance, Love Never Dies, Love Story, Apassionata, Shoes, Legally Blonde, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Million Dollar Quartet, Flawless: Chase the Dream, Betty Blue Eyes, Respect La Diva, Rock of Ages, Some Like It Hip Hop, Crazy for You, Shrek, Ghost, Midnight Tango, The Wizard of Oz, Ballet Revolucion.

Excitement. Anticipation. Just two words to describe how I feel about this year's upcoming events. My only hope is that I am not met with despair and disappointment when I finally get to experience what I have been waiting so patiently for... These events I speak of range from various forms of media such as video games, music, theatre and so on. I have complied a list that covers my most anticipated (in no particular order).

What are you waiting for?Collapse )

Wow, it's been too long since I've updated this thing. First of all, I decided to give this LJ a little renovating with an all-new profile and layout.

So, I went to TK Maxx yesterday and I was so surprised by what I discovered there. I found a Pokemon Black and White 10 Figures Set just sitting in the Toys section of the store. Why was it a surprise? Well, usually they only sell older Pokemon merch from DPPt or HGSS. This was the first time I ever saw a BW item, and on top of that, it was something I have not seen in any other shop before either in-store or online. It has all the main characters in the anime (including Team Rocket in their BW uniforrm) and their main Pokemon. Um, Cilan and Meowth in one set - yes please! That alone meant it had to be purchased - a collector's piece, indeed. Oh, and here are some nifty pics to drool over :P
